Welcome to The Quiet Brave.
Hi. I’m Errin.
Have you ever felt a nudge—gentle, but impossible to ignore?
A soft pull that whispers, What if we chose a different life?
What if brave didn’t mean loud?
What if peace didn’t have to be earned through exhaustion?
For my husband and me, that question sparked a deep and ongoing conversation about the possibility of relocating from the U.S. to the quiet, breathtaking landscapes of Scotland.
It’s not about escape.
It’s about arrival—choosing stillness, savoring slowness, and cultivating joy with intention.
In our journey, my husband has always been the reliable map—directional, steady, and long-sighted. He’s a wayfinder in so many ways. He charts the course, watches for what’s ahead, and makes sure our family stays safe and well cared for. A protector, a provider, and the one who always seems to know where we’re going.
And me? I’ve always been the lantern. I light the path right in front of us. I bring warmth and comfort. I carry home with me—no matter where we are.
This conversation—about staying or going, about choosing a different life—has grown out of that balance. His direction. My light. Together, we’re seeking something quieter, something more connected. A life not defined by stress or fear, but one that leads with love. That prioritizes our family’s rhythm. That offers our children something more.
We’re not just making a move. We’re making a choice. About the future we want to live in—and the people we want to become along the way.
This space—the one we’re building here—is our road. It’s real-time, sometimes unsure, sometimes a little silly, and often rich with truth. But always, always lit by hope.
If you’re quietly asking your own questions… if you’re wondering what a different life looks like… you’re welcome here.
Whether it’s just me or someday, maybe us, I’m grateful you found your way to this page. Thanks for being here, even if it’s just me for now.
